The principle of the veneer dryer is to use the moist and hot air in the heating chamber of the dryer to discharge the water from the green veneer to achieve the desired moisture content. Why do you need to remove excess moisture from the veneer? Because too wet plywood processing will bring a series of problems. Excessive moisture in the plywood can affect the glue bonding of the plywood gluing process. High humidity veneer is also not suitable for the hot-pressed plywood manufacturing process. This will prolong the hot pressing time and reduce the quality of the sheet. Follow-up is also prone to foaming, permeation, degumming, etc.
Controlling the speed, temperature and humidity inside the dryer at optimum levels during drying of veneers will make the wood dimensionally stable, relatively consistent in moisture content, free from pests and easy to store. The finishing and processing of the plywood will also be of a higher quality. Good veneer drying practices are necessary to make high-quality plywood.
The dryer is composed of feeding line, heating chamber, cooling chamber and infeeding line.
